Hogan Lovells advises on Report of the International Partnership Against Corruption in Sport (IPACS)

12 November 2021 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells assisted in the review of the report: ‘Tackling Bribery in Sport: An Overview of Relevant Laws and Standards’ published this week by IPACS, co-chaired by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The ‘Tackling Bribery in Sport: An Overview of Relevant Laws and Standards’ report is prepared with a view to enhancing cooperation in tackling malfeasance in sport and seeks to:

Develop mechanisms to enhance cooperation between law enforcement agencies, criminal justice authorities, and sport organizations
Establish a mechanism for the effective cooperation between law enforcement agencies, criminal justice authorities, and sport organizations
Simplify the dissemination, promotion, and distribution of Task Force 4 outputs

Partner Crispin Rapinet explained: “We are delighted to have assisted the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime with this report. Our support enhances the publication’s aim of cooperation between law enforcement agencies, criminal justice authorities, and sports organizations which is fundamental to obstructing the risk of organised crime in sports. This is one of a number of projects with which we are assisting the UNODC, including their recently published resource guide, ‘Legal Approaches to Tackling the Manipulation of Sports Competition’.
