As an associate in the Strategic Operations, Agreements and Regulation (SOAR) team, Matthieu advises on a variety of regulatory and commercial matters that are central to clients' operations.

His work includes advising on long-term strategic projects, as well as essential day-to-day contractual arrangements, such as distribution agreements, co-manufacturing agreements, general trading terms, supply of goods & services, and other procurement arrangements. Matthieu also advises businesses with their sponsorship and advertising campaigns, in particular in the sports and entertainment sectors.

Matthieu regularly acts for clients with consumer-facing activities and has a strong understanding of the regulatory landscape that applies to claims, advertising and consumer protection law more generally. Having recently completed a secondment with a global food manufacturer, Matthieu leverages his in-house experience to provide advice that is always clear and commercially oriented.

Representative experience

Advising a large international automotive manufacturer in respect of its long-term supply, development, manufacturing, provision of after-sales and service of various motor vehicles.

Advising a global tech company on regulatory compliance issues (including consumer law requirements and compliance with UK advertising rules).

Secondment acting as interim in-house legal counsel for a global food manufacturer, providing legal support to its confectionary, food & pet food brands.

Drafting and negotiating distribution and manufacturing agreements on behalf of a beverage manufacturer.

Representing a multinational corporation on its sponsorship of national football teams and athlete brand endorsements.

Advising the British Paralympic Association with regards to its sponsorship arrangements and logistics contracts for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games
