Christoph Pelz has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration as well as in out-of-court dispute resolution. He advises clients on a broad range of civil law matters, such as product liability, financial services, commercial and contract law, post M&A disputes as well as damage claims in connection with plant engineering. Furthermore, he supports clients - especially in dealing with acute crisis situations - in the area of investigations and compliance. 

During a secondment in the legal department ("Product Liability & Product Defense") of a leading global automotive manufacturer, Christoph was responsible, among other things, for handling mass litigations in various jurisdictions. During his legal clerkship, he already gained experience in the dispute resolution team of a renowned international law firm.

Representative experience

Advising and representing a leading global chemical group in various contractual disputes.

Advising and representing a wholesale and retail company in mass litigation (approx. 250 individual claims) against claims of a competitor for alleged competition law infringements.

Advising and representing an international retail company in a contractual and commercial dispute concerning alleged purchase obligations.

Advising and representing a leading logistics company in several post M&A disputes.

Advising and representing a major German insurance company in D&O litigation against a former board member of the policyholder in connection with corruption and anti-trust allegations.

Advising an insurance broker on procedural and substantive issues of German (insurance) law and representation in a litigation for damages due to alleged breaches of duty under an insurance contract.

Supporting a German chemical park operator in an internal investigation into the background and possible causes of a large-scale incident and advising on civil and insurance law issues.

Supporting a rating agency in an internal investigation into alleged compliance incidents.

Supporting a German industrial company in an internal investigation into alleged irregularities in a capital increase.
