As an associate in the Public Law & Policy team, Georgia is engaged in all stages of government decision-making, from working with innovative businesses to shape policy and regulation that affects them, to acting for clients on both sides of high-profile judicial reviews.
Georgia’s academic background in Politics and International Affairs gives her a great insight into how government in the UK really works, enabling her to both assist companies to engage effectively with government as well as helping public bodies to make robust decisions.
Georgia has also acted for pro bono clients in applications to the European Court of Human Rights, including securing an award of interim measures that required the Russian Federation to ensure that the death penalty imposed on two British nationals captured by Russian-controlled forces while serving in the Ukrainian armed forces was not carried out.
Acting for the London Metal Exchange defending significant commercial human rights damages claims worth approximately $450 million in respect of actions taken in the nickel market.
Advising a number of UK Government departments on complex public law issues, including in relation to the Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill and the Government's reforms to retained EU law.
Successfully representing the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero in its defence of judicial review challenges on public law and subidy control grounds to the transfer of Bulb Energy.
Advising a number of digital services, including online marketplaces and video sharing platforms, on content regulation and other technology policy issues.
Acting pro bono, successfully represented two British nationals sentenced to death by Russian-controlled forces in Ukraine, securing an interim measure from the European Court of Human Rights.
