Having obtained his doctorate in biochemistry, he focuses on proceedings in the fields of biotechnology, chemistry, life sciences, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and production processes. In addition, he has experience in matters relating to mechanics and telecommunications. His particular interest is in pharmaceutical processes and the interface of IP and regulatory protection of pharmaceutical products.
Many of his clients request legal advice on technical property rights, commission freedom-to-operate analyses and legal opinions as part of due diligence in M&A projects.
His clients appreciate the way he leverages his research experience obtained working on molecular neuroscience at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and on directed enzyme evolution for organic synthesis at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research.
Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Felipe worked as an in-house patent attorney for a large multinational consumer goods group headquartered in Dusseldorf. He was responsible for all patent matters in connection with specific consumer products, their production processes, and related IoT devices.
