Leo Gomez’s practice focuses on patent, trademark and trade secret litigation. Leo leverages his robust technical background in chemical engineering to provide clients with strategic counsel on complex intellectual property matters.

Prior to his legal career, Leo was awarded a doctorate in chemical engineering and gained significant technical experience through computational research on the structure and properties of novel nanomaterials for energy storage applications. As an engineer, he worked implementing and troubleshooting time-series data management solutions in systems supporting industrial operations.

During law school, Leo worked as a student attorney at the Civil Rights of Persons with Disabilities Clinic researching issues related to the Americans with Disabilities Act. He also counseled entrepreneurs on patent prosecution matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office while serving as a student attorney in the Intellectual Property and Entrepreneurship Clinic.

As a member of Hogan's IP team, Leo provides clear analysis of patent infringement and invalidity issues, conducts legal research, and offers litigation support.
