Annika Lichtenbaum advises clients on a broad range of international trade and investment matters, including economic sanctions, export controls, national security, and anti-money laundering. She uses a combination of legal analysis and policy advocacy to help clients achieve results in a complex regulatory landscape. 

During law school, Annika served as a senior editor of the National Security Law Review and co-director of the Harvard Law School Chapter of the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP). She also gained valuable advocacy and direct client experience while interning with Human Rights First's Refugee Representation team.

Annika maintains an active pro bono practice, working mainly on asylum and domestic violence cases. 

Representative experience

Assisted university with responding to subpoena from U.S. government regarding funds from sanctioned countries and restricted parties; reviewed and summarized policies and procedures related to same.
