Hogan Lovells advises in transaction to boost African Vaccine production

Washington, D.C. Paris, 8 January 2025 – Global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the African Development Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), and United States International Development Finance Corporation in a US$45 million financing package for VaxSen, a subsidiary of Sengal’s Institut Pasteur de Dakar.

The transaction aims to strengthen public health objectives by improving vaccine access in Africa by enhancing vaccine production capacity, supporting local supply chains, and establishing a robust network for vaccine distribution in alignment with African Union’s Vision 2040, which seeks to produce 60% of the continent’s vaccine needs locally.
