Hogan Lovells advises HR Group on investment in Asia-based hotel management company Absolute Hotel Services

Led by Frankfurt partner Matthias Jaletzke, Hogan Lovells advised the Berlin hotel operator HR Group (HRG) on its acquisition of shares in the Bangkok based Absolute Hotel Services (AHS) from U Global Hospitality Company Limited. The parties have agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction. Closing is scheduled for the end of May 2023.

With this significant investment in AHS, HRG enters the Asian market and continues its expansion course. AHS includes hotels under the Eastin Hotels & Resorts, U Hotels & Resorts, Absolute Collection and Travelodge brands. With more than 37 hotels and golf clubs in operation and 34 projects under development in Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong and Turkey, the hotel management company is one of the fastest growing hotel groups in the Asian region. Further expansions are planned in Korea and the Philippines this year.

HR Group is one of the leading multi-brand hotel operators in Central Europe. The Berlin based company has successfully acquired and operated hotels for more than ten years and cooperates with established hotel groups.
