Hogan Lovells advises Qualitas Energy on its acquisition of seven Wind Farms

Press releases | 15 January 2025

Led by Berlin-based partners Dr Tim Heitling and Dr Thomas Dörmer, global law firm Hogan Lovells has advised the investment and project development company Qualitas Energy on the acquisition of seven wind farms in Germany. The firm also provided tax advice on the structuring and the acquisition, with a team led by Dr Mathias Schönhaus. Seller is Swiss investment manager SUSI Partners.

The 33 wind turbines with a total capacity of 99 MW have been generating sustainable wind power since they went into operation, supplying electricity to approximately 63,000 households. The wind farms are located across Germany in Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, and Bavaria. Qualitas Energy now plans targeted repowering measures to increase the total capacity to around 173 MW in the coming years, enabling the supply of clean wind power to over 118,000 households.

Hogan Lovells advised Qualitas Energy on all legal and tax matters related to the acquisition with a cross-practice and cross-borders team.
