Additionally, the firm was legal adviser on six winning Deal of the Year categories – ABS Deal of the Year, Esoteric ABS Deal of the Year, ESG Deal of the Year, Most Innovative Deal of the Year,RMBS Deal of the Year and Private Securitization Deal of the Year.
The first four categories were all won by an Enpal B.V. transaction which involved the first ever European public securitization of solar loan receivables. This transaction – on which Hogan Lovells was lead counsel to Enpal – showcases Enpal’s commitment to green energy financing and marked the first German securitization with a tranche guaranteed by the European Investment Fund (EIF) (Class A1 notes).
The fifth deal of the year award category – the RMBS Deal of the Year – involved Hogan Lovells acting as drafting counsel to ING Bank on its second STS €1bn green residential mortgage-backed securitization, structured to be aligned with the ICMA Green Bond Principles as a Secured Green Collateral Bond.
The sixth deal of the year award category – Private Securitization Deal of the Year, Project Spyder – involved Hogan Lovells acting as counsel to BNP Paribas, Bank of America and Citibank as senior lenders on a private asset-based structured financing transaction for Dutch equipment leasing specialist Beequip as part of Apollo's acquisition of Beequip.
In addition, client Toyota Financial Services UK was awarded Debut Issuer of the Year and client Enpal was awarded Esoteric ABS Issuer of the Year and ESG Issuer of the Year.
