Minnesota Court of Appeals upholds murder conviction of Derek Chauvin for the death of George Floyd

The appeal was argued in January of this year by Hogan Lovells partner Neal Katyal, who serves as a Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Minnesota. A team of Hogan Lovells attorneys including Danielle Desaulniers Stempel, Nathaniel Zelinsky, Victoria Joseph, Dana Raphael, and our former colleagues Sundeep Iyer and Harrison Kilgore, worked tirelessly at both the trial and appellate levels to prosecute the case as Special Attorneys for the State of Minnesota. Every attorney who worked on this case was struck by the brilliance, professionalism, and care that the Office of the Attorney General, led by Keith Ellison, gave to this important case.
