Shaw Shiuan focuses on the formation, structuring, and management of private investment funds across a broad spectrum of alternative investment strategies, including private equity, private credit, venture capital, and sustainable investments. Shaw’s practice also encompasses advising fund managers on internal restructuring matters, such as GP-stake sales and co-GP arrangements.

In addition, Shaw has extensive experience representing institutional investors, development finance institutions, sovereign wealth funds, and fund-of-funds in their fund investments and co-investments.

Prior to joining Hogan Lovells, Shaw was part of a top-ranked funds team at an international law firm in Singapore, and had worked at a leading local firm prior to that.

Representative experience

Clime Capital in establishing the Southeast Asia Clean Energy Fund II (SEACEF II), the first blended finance fund established in Southeast Asia.*

CDIB in establishing the CDIB Cross Border Innovation Fund II, including structuring its co-GP arrangement with a Japanese state-backed investment company. *

Tower Capital Asia, a Singapore-based private equity firm, in establishing its maiden blind-pool private equity fund at US$379 million.*

PATRIZIA in its strategic partnership with a major Asian institutional investor to invest up to JPY 150 billion (c. £1 billion) in Japanese real estate.*

East Ventures in establishing their eighth (EV8) and ninth (EV9) seed funds.*

Asian multilateral development bank on its various fund investments and co-investments, including into Actis Asia Climate Transition Fund and Vinci Climate Change Fund.*

A Middle Eastern sovereign wealth fund on their investments into funds managed by leading European and US private fund managers, including CVC, EQT, CD&R and TA Associates.*

Asian Venture Philanthropy Network in establishing their various philanthropic products.*
