With over a decade of experience, Etzel Salinas provides advice on Telecommunications, Media, and Technology matters. He was previously instrumental at the Mexican telecom regulator (IFT), where he contributed to implementing the landmark 2013 constitutional amendment, opening the sector to foreign investment and establishing new regulatory frameworks for telecom companies.

During his tenure at the IFT, Etzel held various positions, including Legal Advisor, Senior Advisor, and Chief of Staff, providing strategic advice to IFT Board Commissioners. He led regulatory and compliance initiatives for major telecom projects, collaborated on designing pioneering spectrum auctions, and developed innovative licensing frameworks for the wireline, wireless, and satellite industries. His extensive experience includes counseling on critical antitrust rulings and advising on clearing significant telecom mergers and acquisitions, involving complex divestiture proceedings.

Beyond his practice, Etzel is actively involved in the legal community as a Co-chair of the Federal Communications Bar Association's Northern California Chapter. He has published articles on technology policy and has received fellowships to attend multiple international programs on internet governance and spectrum management. Etzel has been licensed to practice law in Mexico since 2013 and successfully passed the New York Bar Exam in 2022.
