Julie Schwartz focuses her practice on Data, Privacy and Cybersecurity. She is assisting clients for more than 10 years in various sectors and industries, including healthcare, finance, and telecoms. She advises clients for drafting and negotiating data processing agreements (often in the context of complex discussions and strategies), performing privacy and transfer impact assessments, handling litigious complaints and requests from data subjects, and in case of data breach and cyber-attacks. Julie also assists clients during CNIL (French Data Protection Authority) dawn raids and has a strong experience in dealing with the CNIL. She has also developed considerable expertise in assisting client for submission and annual updates of their Binding Corporate Rules (BCR) as Controller and Processor.

She, in addition, has developped strong skills and knowledge in assisting clients in the healthcare sector, including pharmaceutical companies and medical devices manufacturers. Her work includes for example assisting in the context of clinical trials and for authorization requests to the CNIL. She is also an excellent advisor regarding the CNIL's standards for clinical studies (Méthodologies de référence). 

Julie also assists clients for compliance with the AI Act, Data Act, CRA, NIS2, etc. 

She is recognized for providing pragmatic advise, with practical guidance and recommendations taking into account the risks.

Julie writes on a regular basis articles and papers for professional specialized journals in French and English. She is also teaching Privacy & Cybersecurity at the Paris Saclay University to Master's degrees. 

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Julie was an associate in one of the most respected French "boutique" lawfirms focusing on Technology matters. She then joined the Paris office of a prestigious global law firm where she continued to develop her practice in Privacy and Cybersecurity. She also previously worked as a paralegal for a US lawfirm located in New York City.
