Mariateresa Soave Carparelli is an Associate in our Tax team in Italy, based in the Rome office.

With a strong background in tax law, Mariateresa has gained significant experience in both share and asset deals. She provides assistance to domestic and international clients, addressing various aspects of direct and indirect taxation, with focus on M&A and real-estate tax matters, international taxation, as well as financial tax issues related to financing transactions and bond issuances.

Mariateresa joined Hogan Lovells in January 2025, following her graduation from LUISS Guido Carli University in 2019. During her studies, she participated in the Erasmus Program at the University of Alicante. She was admitted to the Italian Bar in 2021 and further enhanced her expertise by obtaining a master's degree in tax law from Sapienza University of Rome in 2024.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, she collaborated with an international firm as part of the Tax group.

Representative experience

Assistance to Cassa Depositi e Prestiti in connection with the tax profiles related to its first green bond issuance for a total amount of €500 million and reserved for institutional investors.*

Assistance to CDP Venture Capital, in relation to tax aspects related to the seed round of a deep tech startup focused on solving the problem of overpackaging in thee-commerce sector.*

Tax assistance to Intesa Sanpaolo and UniCredit, as dealers, and Banca Akros and Banca Sella, as co-dealers, for the fourth issue of Btp Valore of €11.22 billion.*

Assistance to Fort Partners Group, as sponsor, arranger and lead investor, in the real estate acquisition of Palazzo Marini 3-4 in Rome.*

Assistance to Equita SIM, Banca Akros, Banco BPM Group and PKF Attest Capital Markets, for the tax aspects related to the issuance of a senior unsecured sustainability-linked bond by Maire Tecnimont.*

Assistance to Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane, as issuer, in connection with the green bond under its EMTN program of €500 million, signed in private placement by the European Investment Bank (EIB).*

Assistance to Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena in the placement of a senior unsecured bond with a nominal value of €750 million and a term of six years, aimed at institutional investors.*

Assistance to Istituto del Credito Sportivo (ICS), as issuer, in connection with the issuance of its first social bond with a nominal value of €300 million, aimed at institutional investors.*

Assistance to Fattal Hotel Group in the real estate acquisition of Principe di Lazise Wellness & Spa Hotel, also through a real estate investment fund managed by Savills Investment Management SGR. *
