Nicholas Sparks advises clients on a range of international trade-related matters. He represents and counsels clients in the areas of trade litigation, compliance with U.S. trade regulations, trade policy, foreign investment reviews, and other trade-related issues.

Nicholas regularly represents companies in international trade administrative proceedings before the U.S. International Trade Commission (ITC) and U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC). He also litigates appeals before the U.S. Court of International Trade. His experience ranges across industries, including agriculture, aviation, chemicals and metals, education, financial services, food, and technology.

Nicholas also assists clients in issues related to export controls and economic sanctions, including those administered by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS), U.S. customs regulations, and reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS). He also provides guidance on immigration-related matters.

While in law school, Nicholas gained public sector experience working as a clerk for the State of Alaska Department of Law in Anchorage. He has cultivated extensive knowledge of Latin America, including through time spent working in Mexico City. He was awarded a Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowship by Stanford University for the study of Brazilian Portuguese.
