Thomas Veitch helps clients to grapple with new and evolving legal issues at the intersection of law, policy, and technology.

Thomas advises technology and telecommunications clients on a wide range of regulatory matters cutting across communications law, privacy, consumer protection, and Internet policy. He provides counsel on product development and compliance strategies, as well as legal advocacy through comments, petitions, license applications, briefs, and other communications before agencies, courts, and international bodies. His practice touches on numerous subject areas, including wireless and wireline technology, space and satellites, artificial intelligence, content moderation, children’s online safety, and Section 230 and First Amendment claims.

Before joining Hogan Lovells, Thomas clerked for Judge Helene N. White of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and Judge Douglas P. Woodlock of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts. He was also an associate at a technology and telecommunications boutique law firm in Washington, D.C. At Stanford Law School, where he was a student attorney in the Juelsgaard Intellectual Property & Innovation Clinic, he was Symposium Editor of the Stanford Law Review and Special Issue Editor of the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights & Civil Liberties. Before law school, he spent two years as a Yale-China Fellow in Hunan Province, where he taught English and played French horn in a local music ensemble.

Thomas also maintains an active pro bono practice that includes voting rights and prisoners’ rights.
