Soyoun advises clients on various antitrust topics in multijurisdictional business practices, such as vertical and horizontal mergers, pricing strategies, monopoly, and unfair competition. She focuses her practice on merger clearance and government investigation, including second request compliance and subsequent litigation challenges. Soyoun has represented clients in antitrust matters before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Federal Trade Commission, and U.S. District Courts. She has experience in both civil and government-facing antitrust litigation.
In addition, Soyoun assists clients who have business footprint in the Far East markets. She often acts as a liaison between Hogan Lovells and its new clients or partner organizations in the region, participating in client outreach and business development.
While in law school, Soyoun served as a law clerk at the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where she was directly involved in multidistrict litigation and government regulation cases pertaining to consumer protection. Before attending law school, Soyoun earned a Master’s degree in Communication, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. private sector.

Represented Henry Ford Health System in defending against the FTC’s second request for acquisition of Ascension Health’s hospitals in Michigan.
Represented ASSA ABLOY responding to DOJ second request. Defended DOJ’s lawsuit seeking to block ASSA ABLOY’s US$4.3bn acquisition of HHI Division of Spectrum Brands, reaching a mid-trial settlement.
Represented UnitedHealth Group responding to DOJ second request. Defended DOJ’s subsequent lawsuit seeking to block UnitedHealth Group’s US$13bn transaction to acquire Change Healthcare.
Represented LG Energy Solutions in its multi-year trade secret dispute over electric vehicle batteries before the U.S. International Trade Commission, which resulted in a US$1.8bn settlement.
Assisted a leading Korean oil refiner in defending DOJ criminal grand jury and civil antitrust investigations on alleged price-fixing conspiracies related to the U.S. government contract.
Assisted a global top 10 pharmaceutical company in its internal compliance investigations.
Assisted one of the world's leading multinational automotive manufacturers in defending in the U.S. International Trade Commission proceedings.
