Power and Renewables

Our lawyers provide the full spectrum of legal services to the power and renewables sector. Whether you have a complex renewables transaction or project, need to navigate regulation, or protect your next-generation power technology, our lawyers are there to advise you.

The Power and Renewables Group at Hogan Lovells supports projects around the globe. Our team regularly collaborates with clients on their innovative and complex projects, including solar, wind (onshore and off), hydroelectric, geothermal, energy storage, biomass, biofuels, waste-to-energy, CHP plants, smart grid applications, and other advanced technologies. We bring a cross-discipline approach to the acquisition and financing of renewable assets, project development, project finance, commercial agreements, regulatory advice, permitting, technology licensing, and dispute resolution.

Renewable energy continues to take off around the world and continued phenomenal growth is predicted. The growth of energy-generating methods and increased market competition has also brought new participants into this sector and raised new challenges for those already involved. We work with major power and utility companies; independent power generators; financial institutions, including lenders and investment funds; and governments as the demand for power and efficient infrastructure continues to grow.
