Tom Hunt is a core member of Hogan Lovells’s global Aerospace & Defense (A&D) sector handling clients' highest profile disputes. Tom's practice encompasses complex litigation with both private parties and the Government, often involving contracts valued in hundreds of millions, or billions, of dollars.  Tom specializes in resolving complex disputes in the classified space.

Tom leverages his technical experience as a former Air Force combat fighter pilot, bringing a deep understanding of advanced defense technologies, joint and combined interoperability, and agile open-systems architectures. Tom can engage immediately on client’s most technologically complex matters, allowing the Hogan Lovells team to cut right to the legal issues—and getting clients back to the business of their business.

Tom’s work includes high-profile disputes involving a range of issues, including procurement litigation, bid protests, and contract disputes involving state and federal agencies in the classified and unclassified space. With experience handling disputes at all levels, including GAO and the Court of Federal Claims, and advising on investigations involving state and federal agencies and agency Inspectors General, Tom resolves the most sensitive and technically challenging issues.

Prior to law school, Tom served 13 years in the United States Air Force as a combat fighter pilot with experience in fourth- and fifth-generation aircraft, operating out of Japan, the United Kingdom, and locations in Southwest Asia. Tom is a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and also has a M.S. in political science. Before joining Hogan Lovells, Tom served in the chambers of the Honorable Chief Judge Susan G. Braden of the United States Court of Federal Claims.
